Cage the Elephant’s new single: new sound, same concepts

Filter magazine’s offering free downloads of Cage the Elephant‘s newest single, “2024”, on their website. You can get a free listen of the track right here.

CTE’s first, self-titled album was quite impressive, with its catchy, foot -stomping anthems about surviving. Their old singles gave them a hardened yet likable quality. They are that group of guys that live in the harsh reality of the world, but still find ironic happiness in darker situations.

“2024” is just as addicting as their old tracks, but with a bouncy, early punk feel, like something The Clash would pound out. But they’re still singing about life’s rougher situations with reckless abandon. And for Cage the Elephant, I would expect nothing different.
